Slither

A fictitious face.

A muscle ache,

with each smile.

Debilitating the soul with no disgrace, God, don’t let this effect my child.

It slowly slithers into life.

That evil little devil!

Consuming the soul with one huge bite. Taking us to unknown levels.

Hidden stomach knots.

So twisted I can be…so I’ve learned.

Oh, How I once was….so hot I burned.

Oh, how the tables turn.

How I envy thee.

Mother, Father, Sisters and Brothers.

Being his She,

Showing the world how your lovers.

A numbing venom for the love of “life”. Making it harder to fight it.

A funny thing, that life.

Some can’t handle it

And prefer to bite it.

It’s grip constricting and choking,

Consuming the soul more so than body.

I will keep it from showing,

Escaping to my world of being naughty.

Oh how I imagine a life that’s not mine.

Hoping one day it will manifest.

Telling everyone I’m just fine.

I “really” do love the sunshine!

Acting normal just like the rest.

How are you? I’m just fine!

At my best.

A fictitious face.

A muscle ache, with each smile.

Debilitating the soul with no disgrace, God, don’t let this effect my child.

Just wrote about how I tend to hide the extreme sadness that loneliness brings.

I’m not terrible looking. I once was considered a social butterfly and always had people around. Somewhere that changed. I know now that I have had close friends that have gone through the same experience. Never told a soul.  I have no family. But I have my daughter. And I hope to fight it for her.  And hope she isn’t affected in the future.

Delores’ Sagacity

O heavy heart that aches with despair

Lost, despondent, and left to die

O the soul that concedes to the pain

Inside of me that yet abides

Where is the joy that this life was to bring?

Days I would escape memories of the forgotten?

Hope is gone and darkness to swallow me

Like grass that blankets the earth

Joy, a facade; a mask to hide the plights

Of unrelenting torment

Wondering in the dark

Nightmares transmute reality

Seasons unchanging

The hand that is bitterness

Hold only misery and sorrow

Wielding its sword to fell

Every instrument of suffering

But, alas weary

Fatally wounded

I am, undone

Delores Collins: This poem was written by me in Jan 2007.

With a Mask in Place

I was alive
I had a soul
I walked the halls
It was so

But i was killed
Date unknown
I have no tombstone
And mourners none

But my body remains
An empty shell
That walks along
This is hell

A broken smile
And a mask in place
No one noticed
A death took place

the title of this is “With a Mask in Place” u want an interpretation. im stating my loneliness n it symbolizes such. the end with my ‘death’ meaning i am lonely and my friends do not notice, n if they do they do not seem to care, n whether or not they r my friends. yadda yadda yadda. all it is, is me showing my loneliness by saying that i ‘died’ (a metaphor for how lonely i am, how i feel unwanted, and my accepting these feelings as normal occurrences) and my friends not noticing. and the mask is how they don’t notice n e thing is wrong, they can’t see my loneliness n all as if i am wearing a mask over my face. and i use the word hell, but i mean it as the place n saying that loneliness is torture as if i was (guess where) in hell

Lonelier Now

I’m lonelier now than I’ve ever been before

yet everything is back to normal.

but now I know that I’ll never be with you

and my heart is dying, slowly, slowly, slower than everything

my soul is hiding behind it’s own shadow

and I am lying dead on the street

you were the one that I loved, or so I thought

I’m lying drowned in a pool of tears

don’t leave no one can die from a broken heart,

because i did, my body is still here

my mind is here to but what’s the use

my heart and soul are dead, shot, forgotten

all by loves twisted since of humor. I’m sorry, I’m sorry I’m sorry

I couldn’t live as friends. now I pay the price

but did you have to do me this way, painful and cruel

or could you have let me down easy so I had a chance to come back

I don’t trust anymore. because I trusted you

and trusting you led me to my death

so I live alone, un-trusting, cold and bitter

but you will never know it was all because of you so what good is it, what does it matter it doesn’t anymore,

but you do know that we will never be the same again

and that is all you will know

Loud Silence

What can I do when the silence sets in

So deafening I can hear my heart beat

Its more frightening than it has ever been

Once again I retreat

From life, filled with shame and a tear

Needing a hug a friendly face, a smile

Needing someone near

Even if it’s only for a while

I shout Hey I’m nice, loving and kind !

Nobody’s listens and even the silence is too loud

So what’s the point of trying to find

A place to belong, to feel proud

Of who I am and how far I have come

The highest of hills and the deepest of seas

Impossible to imagine for some

That I did it all, survived, with ease

But the price I pay is steep

Lost myself, but make others smile

Me, the fighter, inside I weep

Longing to belong, if only for a while

I despise the silence but it comforts me as well

Safe from hurt, I ignore the chains

And the emptiness, no one can tell

That I feel this way, that the longing remains

Why can’t they see that I’m good and loving and kind ?

I guess it’s me who blocks their view

The one thing I’m looking for I can’t seem to find

What the Hell am I going to do ??

I open doors and lead the way

To my heart, my soul , me !

But no one never seems to stay

I look around , no one I see

I must be doing something wrong

To end up in the place I am

Too difficult , too weak, too strong?

I’m trying the best I can

To make others stay, to show I care

It works for a while and I am free!

But when I look again, nobody’s there

Yeah, it’s my fault I guess, it must be………
